TRAINERS METHODOLOGY LEVEL 1 consists of competencies a TVET trainer and assessor must achieve. A TVET trainer is a person who enables a learner or a group of learners to develop competencies to perform a particular trade or technical work. A TVET Trainer and Assessor must possess a National TVET Trainers Certificate (NTTC) in order to perform the functions of a TESDA Certified trainer/ assessor. An NTTC can only be given once a particular person has already passed the Trainers Methodology assessment which will entitle him a Certificate of Competency in Delivering Training Session (COC1), Certificate of Competency in Conducting Competency Assessment (COC2), and a Trainers Methodology Certificate (TMC).
A person who has achieved this Qualification is competent to be:
- TVET Trainer/Technical Trainer
- Training Facilitator/Coordinator
- Competency Assessor
Furthermore, with the implementation of the K-12 Program, teachers who wish to apply for a teaching slot in senior high school shall be asked to submit additional requirements based on the Guidelines that will be made available soon.

- Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) National Certificate (NC) of at least one level higher than course to be taught in subject to be taught (e.g. at least NC-III in SMAW to teach SMAW-NC-II)
- Certified photocopy of Trainers Methodology Certificate (TMC)
